I used to collect pocket watches. There was a period of time in Singapore where they used to give out commemorative ones for like EVERY single event. I had one from a mental hospital... and another from a ladybird show... I used to get into heaps of trouble bringing them to school. Don't know why...

Nowadays, I use my phone, though I do have a lovely note from my father that's taped to my bookshelf. It reads and I quote...

"Wear a timepiece (aka watch), otherwise 'Time will Slip Away'".

Newcomers to my house always comment on it. ^_^ I used to wear a watch, but it gave me a rash. I tied one at one point to my purse. But nowadays... just grabbing the phone and flipping it open and shut seems to do it for me. ^_^

That was lovely.

One little quibble, though: surely Los Angeles has, not a duchess, but a queen? As in, El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula.

I have 2 other watches. One is accurate, but it's kind of plasticky and doesn't always go well with what i'm wearing (My usual one is neutral (Brown leather strap, stainless steel case)
My other watch is nice (Black rubber strap, metal case) but i never use it because, like Leons1701, I hate setting my watch.

I wore wristwatches for years, but I never liked them, I couldn't find a band that did not quickly either corrode or turn disgustingly nasty once in contact with any amount of sweat. But I wanted digital, and a wristwatch was the cheap and easy way to do that.

I love my cellphone. Has a time display on the outside so I don't even need to open it, and it's always accurate. I'm a bit anal about that. Used to reset my watch constantly. Can't have that couple of seconds a month error, now can we?

All digital clocks of any variety are in Morris's domain. All wristwatches of any variety are in Donal's domain. When dealing with a digital watch, both Loci have a claim. Before the ascendence of 'alternate' portable digital timepieces, Morris was subordinate to Donal because most of his aspect fell within Donal's. With the move to other digital devices, Donal's lost his authority over Morris.

Where do quartz watches fall between Morris' and Donal's territory? Many of the nicer ones have "analog" displays, but at their core they run on digital circuitry.

Every watch I've picked for myself (as opposed to getting as a gift, or a freebie with some subscription) has been digital. Just gotta have the timer and stopwatch. I've had some pretty elaborate models at times, but right now have a Timex Expedition...bare minimum to get what I want.

I use my cellphone for calls, that's pretty much it. Oh, and polarization demos, the screen's nice for that.

Yeah, I use a digital wristwatch. What can I say? I'm cheap. And I never use my cell phone for checking the time - too lazy to take it out of my pocket. Makes me feel bad, now that I know the truth behind it.
