First off, True Neutral as an active alignment, rather than an indecisive one, has always fascinated me. Usually it's skewed toward balance as an overarching goal, but I find this story to be a very good reading of it as well. The fight between law and chaos, good and evil--it just doesn't concern her. She's not indecisive, and she doesn't feel that the balance must be preserved--she just places herself outside of that schism entirely. It seems like a remarkably powerful place to operate from. The second is--well, honestly, man does choose his own destiny. Victoria decided that she wanted nothing to do with her father's operations, and she felt that this was the best way to serve his wishes. So she did it. No second-guessing, no cheating. No sentimentalism, no emotion. It must be extremely frustrating to love her, if the Lieutenant loves her back. (I figure he probably does, as the relationship described hardly seems one-sided.) But I figure the Lieutenant is frustrating to love, as well. I dunno. I like her. I tend to be with Victoria on this one, honestly.
